Welcome from the President
This season we celebrate the club's 125th anniversary and I hope you will join me in helping to ensure that the coming season is one to remember.
When the Rev G Mallows Youngman founded our club 125 years ago , he saw rugby as a means of ensuring that local youths were engaged in meaningful physical activity which would take their minds away from other more worldly pleasures. I cannot assure you that this aim has always been successfully achieved by every individual who has passed through the club in the last 125 years but I am confident that our founder would be justly proud of the club he formed if he were to see us today.
The club runs three senior teams and all three have been promoted in their respective leagues during the last two seasons. After winning the Kent League 1 trophy last year, the first XV start the season in London and South East League 4, and we wish them luck in this new challenge. One of the greatest legacies left by our past members is that the club owns the freehold to the land on which we play. To purchase 13 acres of prime real estate on the edge of London would today be beyond the resources of all but the largest and wealthiest clubs in the country.
Our anniversary season will be marked by a number of special events in which I hope you will participate, including a special dinner and a number of commemorative games including a veteran's rugby tournament. Park House has a proud history but we can also look to the future with confidence. I am certain that the club will continue to go from strength to strength during the next 125 years.
In addition we have a thriving minis section which is open to all children from the age of 5 upwards, please see the for more information.
Have a great season!
Bernard Holley, Club President
